January 8, 2022 – Added a very cool brochure on Kewanee Boiler History. It was published in 1924.
January 4, 2022 – Completed a “mini” overhaul of the site. Here are the highlights of what’s different:
- A few menu items were combined to simplify the tabs at the top of our website. The membership / donation section and the contact info was combined with the “about” page.
- The “Museum” tab, which was primarily photos of the old museum was removed. It was redundant because there’s also a “Museum” photo gallery that is very similar.
- Walworth / National Tube Employee Newsletters have been moved to the documents page.
- The most significant changes were in the photo galleries. over 90% of the photos included in the galleries have been cleaned up, repaired as needed, and labeled. The photos have all been resized for better / faster viewing on the internet. They’re all “HD” … meaning 1080P. Almost all of the originals are higher resolution. If you’d like a high res copy of a photo we’d be happy to email one to you.
- FYI in total there are roughly 3,000 photos in the galleries.
The Last addition in 2021 was on December 20, 2021 – A Dean Karau video about “Kewanee’s Early Serbians.” It was added to the video page
